Online Kindergarten in Oklahoma

Online Kindergarten for Oklahoma Students
Starting school is more than an important milestone in a young student’s life; the first year of formal education can help shape a child’s feelings about education for years to come. Because it’s crucial to help students develop a love for learning, many Oklahoma kindergarten families are discovering the benefits of K12-powered online learning—combining the pros of traditional public school education with the comfort and safety of home.
How does K12-powered kindergarten in Oklahoma work?
Eligible Oklahoma kindergartners can access program benefits by enrolling in a tuition-free* K12-powered public school where students enjoy a personalized learning experience and instruction from state-certified teachers. Students can log in to school from any computer with an internet connection, so learning can happen from home or on the go.
Students attend online class sessions with their teachers and access daily coursework using K12’s interactive curriculum. Kindergarten students also spend time learning offline with the help and supervision of their Learning Coach—usually a parent or other responsible adult. A student’s Learning Coach should plan to spend 3 to 6 hours each school day assisting their student and completing other education-related tasks such as corresponding with the teacher and logging attendance.
Students at K12-powered schools often have opportunities to participate in school-sponsored outings and events as well, which gives them a chance to make friends and connect with their school community.

What are K12 kindergarten courses like?
The K12 kindergarten curriculum uses fun graphics, learning tools, and games to engage students in learning core concepts such as math, science, history, and language arts as well as art and music. In addition to online lessons, kindergarten students spend time using hands-on education materials such as printed books, math manipulatives, and art supplies.†
The curriculum is engaging, robust, and integrated so that your student may read a book about the same time period as the music or history they’re studying, giving your student a more complete understanding of each subject. K12 courses in the early grades provide a solid foundation for future studies.
