We also have a variety of private school options, each with its own fee structure. And for a more customizable option, you can purchase courses directly for supplemental or independent homeschool use.
Tuition-Free Online Public Schools
When you’re looking for the structure and support of public school at home, K12-powered tuition-free online public schools are a great option. Just like traditional brick-and-mortar public schools, families do not pay tuition for their students to attend. Available in many states to students in grades K–12, these schools follow a traditional school year, adhere to state requirements for assessments, and have state-certified teachers who provide instruction and support.

Additional Considerations
After weighing the benefits of tuition-free and tuition-based schooling, the next consideration is often that of computer equipment, internet expenses, and textbooks. Here again, you have options.
You need either a Windows-based or Apple Macintosh computer with an internet connection and free software programs that can be downloaded from the internet. Most courses have audio, so speakers are required. World language courses require both speakers and microphones.
When you enroll in a K12-powered public school program, the materials your student needs to complete each course are shipped directly to your home.** Some of these materials, such as textbooks, need to be returned at the end of the year. K12 supplies pre-paid shipping labels as needed for families to return school-owned materials. Common household supplies, like computer ink and paper, are not provided.
